Road Running

Road includes both running and walking disciplines and attracts the vast majority of athletes to the club. We have separate mens, ladies and walking captains who, in addition to giving advice and encouragement, organise such matters as training runs and special related events.

PDAC is well known for its Comrades Marathon participation with many members running Comrades each year. Normally there is a road race just about every weekend which provides plenty of variation in distances for training planning.

PDAC runners compete at all levels from social to those who podium regularly. Through the course of the year, particular races are chosen by KZNA to serve as the KwaZulu-Natal championship events in 10km; 21km; and 42km distances.  The club secretary will be able to supply you with the calendar of events or you can download it here: ROAD RACE CALENDAR

PDAC CLUB COMPETITION

The idea behind the Club Competition is to encourage members to participate in more road races and other events throughout the year.

Traditionally the first event of the new competition is the Westville Christmas Run which takes place in early December. That, in itself, is one of the social highlights of the road running calendar. Those who manage to attain the required points will receive a prize at our club awards evening at the end of the year.

CLUB COMPETITION RULES

Unless specified, all events need to be completed in club kit. Only one Time Trial per month will count towards points.
